Avionics Principal Mechanical Engineer - CREO, Analysis: A Principal Mechanical Design Engineer is required for a major Defence company based in Rochester to lead the innovation of new concepts through to design within a leading technology environment

Avionics Principal Mechanical Engineer - CREO, Analysis Key Responsibilities:
* Directing Engineers in the development of Engineering Designs, including changes and salvage modification to existing products
* Devising and maintaining resource plans and managing the allocation of Mechanical Engineering resources to meet project engineering and delivery demands
* Identifying and managing the completion of design verification tasks and preparing associated tech notes and design scheme data packs
Checking and approving that drawings reflect design intent correctly
* Managing the work of Senior Mechanical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers and Technicians, and taking technical responsibility for the design solutions and technical data packs produced across a number of projects and product lines
* Understanding and providing governance on the adherence of Engineers and Technicians to departmental and company policies and procedures
* Estimating and controlling the hours spent to complete tasks and reporting on progress

Avionics Principal Mechanical Engineer - CREO, Analysis Requirements:
* Meet the requirements of UK-SPEC at Chartered Engineer level
* Proven track record of leading product developments from concept through to production, with a strong technical ability for applying your underpinning knowledge and experience to solving problems
* Competence in the use of CAD tools (CREO 2.0 preferred) to prepare design models and detailed drawings is required
* Innovation and strong technical capability around analysis of design/support calculations
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work with project teams and quickly build credibility amongst the Mechanical Engineering community
* Demonstrable technical ability with the capability and credibility to supervise senior engineers

* The ability to use specialist dynamic, structural and thermal analysis tools will be a distinct advantage

The successful candidate will be required to achieve full SC clearance for this role!!!!
