Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for the most suitable applicant.

Background :

Our client is an upcoming disruptive law firm working towards a radical new business model and has an established presence in multidisciplinary aspects of law. They have been providing services to a wide ranging clientele and now are looking to expand their personal injury and litigation team, especially fast track and multi track cases involving credit hire. These include RTA personal injury claims, clinical negligence claims and EL and PL claims.

Main Duties/Responsibilities :

The team are looking for an experienced lawyer to assist in what will be a busy and varied caseload which includes complex medical negligence and RTA credit hire recovery and litigation. The ideal candidate should have strong post qualification experience in civil litigation and will be required to handle all aspects of their cases from pre-action stage up to and including appeals. The case holder will be required to take on complex case work and be able to be proactive in developing and following appropriate litigation strategies either alone or as part of a team

Requirements

Outputs/Deliverables to be achieved :

• Provide robust advice

• Provide legal advice in answer to complex compliance enquiries

• Uses a process of analysis, planning, scheduling, prioritising, action, quality monitoring and review

• Takes responsibility for own work with substantial degree of autonomy but knowing when to consult and to delegate

• Displays an understanding of the resourcing requirements of own cases.

• Has up-to-the minute case files readily available

• Displays an understanding of the context the client operates in.

• Displays the professional attitude that client and company expect from a member of an organisation with a high reputation

• Adopts a style most likely to build an effective working relationship with the client.

• Responds to reasonable client requests including agreeing achievable and realistic actions, timescales etc.

• Acknowledges clients’ concerns and works to alleviate these in a way that balances client and Agency needs

• Is alert to media interest which may have an impact on the reputation of the client and/or the Agency

• Helps other team members to meet tight deadlines to preserve department’s reputation.

• Display Civil Service Values, help other people, focus on customer service and look proactively for solutions.

• Keeps abreast of legal developments and current thinking on related policy issues.

• Is capable of formulating robust litigation strategies and ensuring compliance with established strategies in group action work.

• Ensures that risk issues are escalated in line with team standards.

• Uses training and other methods to refresh and improve their skills and knowledge.

• Share best practice and develop knowledge management

Skills/Experience required :

· Strong private law civil litigation experience essential

· Good drafting and written skills essential

· Ability to meet time and billing targets essential

· Experience in managing a busy civil litigation caseload essential.

· Experience in personal injury claims and credit hire litigation essential

· Judicial review experience desirable but not essential.

Formal qualifications required :

· Essential : Qualified Solicitor registered on the Law Society roll with post qualification experience..

· Desirable : 3 years + PQE

Evaluation criteria :

- Must possess strong organisational and analytical skills and be able to produce high quality work to tight deadlines in a pressurised environment.

- Strong previous civil personal injury litigation experience

- Strong drafting and written skills

- Awareness of the importance of good client care including building relationships with clients, delivery of a quality and cost-effective service

- Ability to work within a team environment and to contribute to the development of the team.

Benefits

Contract: Permanent

Remuneration: £25,000 to £37,500 plus bonus
