You will join Aiimi as part of a Data Science team, working with our clients across multiple sectors, helping them to explore next generation data science techniques and tools to drive incremental business value from their data assets.

Previous experience of data science in an asset management intensive environment and a passion for how information (data and content) can be used to drive business value would be ideal for this role!


You will be comfortable communicating with stakeholders of all levels to discover the information hidden in various sources of content and data, with a view to helping our clients make intelligent decisions to deliver better outcomes to their customer base.

As you begin your role with Aiimi, your primary focus will be in applying data mining techniques, statistical analysis, building high quality predictive algorithms and models, using machine learning and AI techniques to classify, cluster and predict actions using both internal and existing data and content, and build recommendation systems. Your role will be involved in the following areas:

• Liaising with our clients so that their information can be used in context, be relevant and be easily consumed by those who need it

• analysing and interpret patterns and trends

• developing new and innovative ways data science solutions can drive efficiencies in the business

• Creating enterprise integrated solutions that include new triggers and associated interventions to affect future outcomes

• prove/disproving hypothesis and theories using statistical/computation techniques

• supporting strategic planning and assist in data science strategy and roadmaps

• fulfilling timely reporting requirements including dashboards, scorecards and reports

• Ensuring new models, reports and data architectures are promoted and published to a production and centralised self-service data warehouses as required

You will be responsible for:

• Building and optimizing machine learning algorithms (LM, GLM, Random forest, Naïve Bayes, etc)

• Data mining (Summarisation, classification, regression, clustering, anomaly detection)

• statistical/computational analysis (significance, normality, gaussian processes)

• Extending data with third party and publicly available source of information (ETL, joining, merging wrangling, mashing)

• Identifying new data collection processes to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems (API, Batch, realtime)

Accountabilities: Analytics

• Identify patterns in data, working with the business to interpret meaning and associated business value

• Find ways of capturing insight from all appropriate internal and external sources of content and data

• Find ways to extract data from content (both structured and unstructured sources) so that it can be more easily analysed and integrated into other data sources

• Visualisation of information so that it is relevant, in context and consumable. Understanding of visual best practices desirable.

• Financial cost, risk and benefits analysis (ROI, risk assessment, and business case development to support transformation)

• Data quality handling (imputation, interpolation, N/A removal) and DQ frameworks (Logging, auditing, exception handling)

• Provide advice and support to answer queries, resolve issues, and support incidents and emergencies.

• Provide support in collating information that is required for subject access requests, legal matters (GDPR, DPA), customer requests, complaints, year book, regulation, business plans, performance reviews, budgets, and strategic programmes.

• Code peer review.


• Ensure that information management policies and all associated policies are adhered, and non-compliance breaches are disclosed

• Contribute to the continual improvement of the information strategy and associated policies and standards

• Contribute to the data management strategy and associated master data management, metadata management, data quality, data modelling and data governance policies

• Collaborate with members of information governance groups and information communities of practice

• Ensure information quality metrics, definitions and required commentary is added to reports before publication

• Ensures that information is only made available to those people who need it to do their jobs

Essential Experience required

• Demonstrable experience in delivering information analysis

• Extensive experience designing complex relational databases for simultaneous multiple users

• Extensive experience of business suite systems

• Experience of content management systems, classifications and content analytics

• Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms, such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, Decision Forests, etc.

• Knowledge of Neural nets and reinforcement learning (RNN, CNN, Q-learning, DCNN, ANN, etc) – Desirable, not essential

• Experience of using NLP models. E.g. N-gram analysis, stemming, Lemmatization, named entity recognition (NER), OpenNLP, Stanford, GATE, Lingpipe

• Experience with common data science toolkits in Python (SciKit-Learn, NumPy, Flask, Tensorflow, Keras2.0, matplotlib, Pandas, PyTorch, PySpark) and R (ggplot2, glm, caret, dplyr, lubridate, xgboost, data.table)

• Experience with data visualisation tools, such as D3.js, Kibana, Power BI, Plotly, Tableau, Qlikview, Looker

• Proficiency in using query languages such as SQL, Hive, Pig

• Proficiency in using NoSQL databases, such as MongoDB, Elastic, Hadoop (Desirable)

• Proficiency in best practices for the collection, preparation (including clean-up of missing and incomplete data) and enrichment of data for transport and ingestion with tools such as Logstash

• Attention to detail and demand for things to be accurate

• Can be trusted to handle personal and sensitive information

• Gifted at being able to represent information in such a way that it looks great and is easy to consume

• Inquisitive to explore how interconnected information sources can be leveraged to drive insight

• Experienced in structuring and delivering presentations to non-technical as well as technical target audiences

• Experience of working on projects deploying Agile methodologies

• Can work in a pressurised environment to business-critical timescales

• Experience in advising stakeholders, senior managers and directors

• Excellent verbal and written presentation skills

• Strong experience and skills in influencing, negotiating and analysis are essential


• Competitive starting salary

• 10% of basic salary in flexible benefits (to include death in service and critical illness cover as standard plus private healthcare, dental, pension etc.)

• Up to 10% of basic salary in bonus

• 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays (you will receive an additional day of annual leave for every 2 years of your employment)
