Requirements

We are looking for a Paralegal with experience in debt recovery to join our Payments & Collections team. The Paralegal will work closely with the Head of Collections to determine case direction and strategy.

As iwoca’s Debt Recovery Paralegal, your role will be to:

Raise and manage in-house money claims using MCOL or through the CCMCC Prepare winding up petitions and statutory demands Liaise with solicitors, courts, insolvency practitioners and third party debt collectors to recover debts Manage and monitor the active litigation and enforcement action taken against a portfolio of users Manage defended cases and prepare directions questionnaires, witness statements and other evidence required for hearings and trials Complete Court applications to enforce County Court Judgments including charging orders, oral examinations and High Court Enforcement. Occasionally attend court to swear affidavits Cooperate with wider Payments and Collections team to assess and investigate cases and propose strategies to maximise recoveries Accurately maintain customer database to reflect collections activity Assist with answering inbound customer telephone calls, letters and emails with the greatest level of care, accuracy and customer service skills Occasionally prepare responses to debit card chargebacks Assist with processing business and personal insolvency documentation Ensure compliance with all appropriate legislation regulatory body guidelines Adhere to our company policies and procedures Uphold iwoca’s company reputation at all times ]You will need:

At least 2 years debt recovery or legal support experience, ideally in the commercial / business sector Proven experience of raising and managing money claims Experience in business and personal insolvency issues would be hugely beneficial Empathy, forbearance and professionalism Strong communication skills, confidence and diligence Conscientious and thorough, with strong attention to detail The ability to deal with a variety of challenges, innovate and think on your feet Benefits
