Agile Scrum Master - London/Lloyds Insurance Market - City - Contract

Harrington Starr are working a global provider of specialty and commercial insurance and reinsurance products who are currently looking for an Agile Scrum Master to lead a team focusing on the development and implementation of key integration capabilities across a number of strategic underwriting platforms

Key Responsibilities

Defining Agile processes to be adopted by the development team, in agreement with the Senior Developer and in alignment with Agile best practice guidelinesGuiding the team and organisation on how to use Agile/Scrum practices mentoring staff on the new processes as required, and ultimately owning the process to deliver software products and associated value to business customersInitiating the scrum, creating and maintaining the Product Backlog and other artefacts to support tracking and reportingGuiding the team on self-organising to fill in the intentional gaps left in the Agile/Scrum frameworks.Arranging daily stand-up meetings, schedule & facilitate meetings, demonstrations and decision-making processes in order to ensure quick inspection and proper use of adaptation processPlan and organise Agile Ceremonies as required e.g. Missions, Epics & Sprint Planning and Retrospective meetingsAsses the Scrum Maturity of the team and organisation and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organisation.Removing impediments or guiding the team to remove impediments by finding the right personnel to remove the impediment.Skills and Experience

Experience in playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a software development team(s) that was diligently applying Scrum principles, theory and practicesProven delivery capability, supported by specific examplesGood skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparencyKnowledge of various well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach e.g. Burndown reporting, Retrospective formats, handling bugs in the Product BacklogA clear understanding of the difference between Missions, Epics and SprintsKnowledge of different Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Crystal, FDD, etc. and Agile tools e.g. JIRA
