IT Support Technician

Location: Colchester, Essex

Salary: circa £23,000 /year

Following on from the success of 2018 this company have an opening for an IT Support Technician to join their growing team. The new IT Director joined last year with a clear vision to drive innovation and digitalization for this established firm and with that comes the need for an additional person to assist in the delivery of that vision.

They’re looking for a technically minded individual with a passion for helping the less technically minded with solutions to their operational needs. Ideally you will have come from a helpdesk or customer services background with strong communication skills. You could be a school leaver, a recent grad or someone looking for a career move to a much more technical role to back up your passion. This is a small yet effective team so you’ll be mentored from day one with maximum exposure to all technology and processes which means you’ll never get bored and your career will constantly be moving forward.

Here’s what you could be doing day to day:

Be available on the Service Desk to take incident or emails at all times.Ensure all incidents/service requests are logged and dealt with in the quickest, most effective and efficient way, ensuring where within your control a resolution is agreed with the customerDevelop customer relationships that ensure the delivery of exceptional client serviceWhere appropriate take ownership of applications and managing the software lifecycle i.e. upgrades, patches, deployments or projects as directed by the IT Director.Essential skills for this role are:

Service desk experienceA passion for technology backed up with studies and ideally with a technical qualificationGood communication skills ideally gained by working in a customer service environmentOrganisational skillsThe desire to learn and the ability to be coachedDesirable skills:
