Description:
Award winning VFX and animation company, Jellyfish Pictures has a fantastic opportunity for talented, experienced Concept Artists to work on an incredibly exciting, high profile project. Artists applying should have extensive production experience and a strong ability to design & visualise stunning sequences. You will be expected to run with a loose description as well as be able to work to creative direction by others and adapt and update boards whilst scripts are being developed. The project will start in early 2019 for approximately 6 months.

The Project:The Concept Artists will work closely with the Director and Creative Director, in collaboration with a storyboard artist. Art work generated by the Concept Artist will serve as visual guides and reference for other departments such as Assets, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing, Rigging, Animation and VFX. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate is essential.

You may also be required to work with the Creative Director during the initial setup of the Project, estimating times for tasks, detailing scope complexity etc. and where relevant suggesting artistic, creative and technical solutions to help bring efficacy, development and progression to the Project’s pipeline.

There is also an opportunity for a number of more experienced Concept Artists to support the Creative Director in mentoring and guiding less experienced Concept Artists, passing on knowledge and methodology on best practice and technique and where relevant making sure they are supported creatively, artistically and technically during their time on the Project.

Location - London (either Margaret Street or Brixton)

Salary - negotiable depending on skills and experience

Start date – early 2019

Contract length - 6 months

Great use of colour, light and shadow Ability to visualise a strong mood Ability to create photorealistic matte style paintings Ability to work within specific styles, including a style set by another artist or art directorGreat communication skills, a drive to improve everything and a motivation to make a difference is essential Ability to work directly with the client, as part of a small team with a storyboard artist Skill at interpreting Art Direction Briefs and requirements and understanding the Creative, aesthetic and visual goals of the Project Produce various types of Artwork; concepts/designs, to a high standard and within agreed time scales as required – e.g. creatures, environment designs, Storyboards, Sketches, Designs, Colour Scripts, VFX designs, etc. Support the work of Producers, Directors, Creative Directors and other Department Leads/CG Supervisors in the planning and production stages of the Project. Ensuring that Design/Art Work gets done within schedule and budget whilst meeting Client, Studio and Director expectations Work with an awareness of the challenges that may faced by the VFX team when implementing your storyboards and to flag them with the Creative and Production team. Note:
