As a Technical Writer you will be working as part of the Technical Communications team who are responsible for producing and maintaining customer facing technical documentation for all products within the software suite. You will have the opportunity to work in a high-performing, cross-functional team delivering enterprise-class software solutions.

You will possess outstanding formal technical writing skills and have a strong ability to create easy to follow documentation whilst working to a deadline.

This position will be based in our Watford, Hertfordshire office with some travel to our European offices on an ad-hoc basis.

You will:

Work closely with the product development teams to understand product features and functionality and produce accurate, relevant and informative documentation. Build strong relationships with internal consumers of documentation, such as support and services teams, in order to incorporate real world content into the documentation stream. Create engaging and compelling customer facing documentation including user guides, specifications, customer community blogs and more. React quickly and effectively to comments and requested updates to keep content relevant. Create effective internal and external training materials (print and digital) including PowerPoint presentations and video guides. Assist in producing estimates and documentation plans for future projects. Communicate and report plans, project status, significant milestones both within the Engineering team and to wider management team. Organise and maintain the documentation repositories and ensure content aligns with company standards. Contribute to continuous improvements of Engineering processes, especially those associated with documentation and other technical communications. Keep current with emerging help technologies and tools through relevant blogs, websites and events to make suitable recommendations for introducing exciting and compelling tools and techniques for engaging technical communications. Your background:


Bachelor's Degree (preferably English, Communications, or Information Technology). Ability to quickly understand commercial and technical information and translate this into well-structured documentation Experience producing customer-facing documentation and collateral Experience producing training materials Experience of single source output frameworks utilising reuse of content. 1-3 years of experience documenting complex, commercial large-scale software solutions. Experience working in an agile/lean environment. Proven ability to think and work at the system's level. Take feedback from internal and external clients to continuously improve document content. Flexibility to travel Desired Skills:

Experience producing multimedia documentation and collateral Experience of industry standard documentation tools such as DITA, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, FrameMaker etc. Experience of using Video tools such as Camtasia, Movavi etc. Experience of using version control tool Knowledge of translation practises for creating multi-lingual outputs A programming or scripting language (HTML or XML) We will:
