Description:
Civil Technician vacancy in Kent,

Our client, an award winning civil & structural engineering consultancy, are looking for a Civil Technician to join their busy team based in Kent.

For this role you would have a HNC/D in Civil Engineering and have some experience in a technician role within a consultancy. You would also be experienced in the use of AutoCAD, Civil 3D and MicroDrainage.

Within this role your daily responsibilities would include:

Working under the supervision of a Principal Engineer in the production of schematic/concept designs for highways and drainage within defined project time scales.

Liaising with other construction professionals in the development of designs.

Undertaking drainage and highway designs using Civils 3D, Micro Drainage, and Site 3D

Assisting in the production of AutoCAD and Civils 3D drawing information and undertaking quality reviews of drawn information prior to issue.

Getting involved with developing relationships with clients and other professionals with the aim of identifying and securing new job opportunities. Whilst these items are relevant on larger projects where work is managed and co-ordinated by a Principal Engineer/Associate, it is envisaged that similar tasks would be undertaken independently on smaller projects as follows.

Working independently in the production of schematic/concept designs and drainage and highway design calculations within defined project time scales.

In addition to work on traditional civil engineering design projects, there is also a requirement to work with our existing staff to undertake Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies, or other similar reports, letters and general correspondence associated with this work.
