This role is responsible for the delivery and effectiveness of the development framework to all employees within region, working closely with People Function colleagues to ensure a collaborative development journey.

Working with the Heads of Divisional Development you will understand the commercial objectives and strategy identifying how this can be delivered through outstanding people performance. This will include alignment to the company's performance and leadership model and training needs analysis, creating development plans while executing both the internal development programmes and facilitating external sessions.

The PDBP role will review performances and be responsible for the talent matrix per division, identifying potential future performance, creating initiatives to deliver an effective succession plan over the region. Providing visibility to the Head of and recommendations on potential development opportunities to provide further development such as secondments or rotations which can both develop employees and regional performance.

The role will be passionate about people and performance development with the ability to create excellent relationships and identify areas of further development. The fast-moving nature of the business will ensure that there is always an opportunity to work outside of the day to day activities, supplementing the opportunity to provide development opportunities.

Travelling is essential.

Main Duties and Areas of Responsibility

* Leadership of the development plan within region

* Manage, with the central team, the induction and onboarding experience ensuring that all new employees are aware of activities and development options

* Ensure the delivery of Observation, Feedback and Coaching within region.

* Deliver upskilling sessions to area and district managers on coaching and development conversations

* Ensure that annual grading is calibrated alongside other regions, ensuring consistency

* Maintain an effective people succession plan for all roles within the business

* Based on talent matrix identify the skills and implement a plan to support current managers and "lead" talent

* Help us to communicate messages across the People Function and across the wider business to managers and employees

* Work with the central team and Head of to create and implement external solutions and development options to drive company and individual performance

* Benchmark internal training against external solutions to ensure forward thinking approaches are utilised and provide a consultancy service to key stakeholders in the business

* Manage the communication process through internal applications to ensure effective development feedback

* Ensure that all activity is covered within company guidelines including GDPR

* Delivery of internal workshops, development and coaching sessions

* Work on the delivery of L&D focussed programmes

* Review, update and create content to drive the commercial needs of the regional teams

* Ensure delivery of the performance and leadership process, completing employee development records and delivery of personal development plans

* Analyse feedback and make recommendations to the Head of roles based on initiatives that can drive performance

* Administrative duties and reporting on activity

* Working with the business to grow the curriculum and bridge skill gaps

* Work with the client teams to develop and deliver updated retail academy programmes

* Deliver line manager training and train the trainer sessions to all new starters

* Training coordination as required, ensuring all data is valid and updated

* Preparation of training and development collateral

Person Specification

* Personable, engaging and enthusiastic with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders

* Proven ability to plan and deliver effective people development plans

* Desire to learn and evolve skillset

* Strong communication and listening skills with the ability to interpret and inform the correct area (i.e line manager, HR, IT etc)

* Demonstrable experience of delivering multiple concurrent learning and development programmes

* Ability to quickly build meaningful relationships, with strong influencing and negotiation skills, demonstrable at all levels within the organisation

* Ability to understand the commercial objectives and create development solutions

* Good understanding of systems in order to plan, record, analyse and deliver effective development solutions

* Ability to prioritise multiple deadlines in order to deliver key initiatives

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate and present to all levels

* Ability to tailor styles and approach to suit audience and requirements while operating in a fast paced and changing environment
