As Business Development Manager, you will have a key role in establishing Precedent’s presence globally. Working closely with the Chairman and Founder, our consultancy and creative teams, you’ll not only manage our new business pipeline, but will pro-actively identify opportunities and nurture relationships.

You’ll have a cool head, and be a clear communicator and motivator, who’s not afraid to crack the whip to get all the information you need from our consultants to ensure you can create innovative solutions that meet our clients’ needs.

From prospecting and lead generation (which means you aren’t afraid to get on the phone and start some conversations) you’ll help prospective clients to identify their needs and respond to them through beautiful proposals and presentations showcasing our expertise.

You’ll pre-qualify briefs as they come in, making decisions about what the right projects are for our expertise. You’ll then work collaboratively with teams across the business to create visually stunning proposals and pitch decks spanning costs and timescales, technical and creative requirements, insights and ideas.

Whilst you’ll collaborate with consultants and creatives across the business on each individual bid, working with you in your team will be a business development and marketing executive. You’ll be responsible for their performance and development. Alongside supporting you as necessary to create proposals, pitch decks, creds and pre-qualification questionnaires, they’ll report into you on marketing activities, across content, social, email, PR and events. You’ll ensure that their activities drive leads and brand awareness as part of your overarching new business strategy.

You’ll manage our relationships with strategic partners, including CMS and CRM providers, data research companies and media agencies, working with them not just on new business activities, but to make sure we can all maximise the potential of our partnerships.

Your focus will primarily be new clients, however there may be occasions when you will work with the client services team to leverage existing client relationships.

Interest in the digital industry. You don’t have to be an expert, but you’ll be able to have conversations about topics ranging from sentiment analysis and content audits, to cloud hosting and Pentesting, capturing the right information to pass onto our subject matter experts so that they can support you to take these conversations further. Impeccable command of the English language – orally and in writing, with a creative flair. Exceptional organisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects at one time, and efficiently plan and resource the bid process. Excellent attention to detail – your desk is the final stop before pitch decks, proposals and creds are sent to our prospective clients. Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across the agency and our partner network to drive forward our new business effort. Curiosity and confidence. You won’t be afraid to challenge consultants and directors when you don’t think an idea, a price or a project is right for our clients, or our business. A great communicator, you’ll be the first point of contact for many of our prospects and will need to succinctly convey all that we have to offer. Knowledge of procurement processes, both informal and formal, including the Digital Marketplace, G-Cloud and Crown Commercial Services. Experience of working with/ reporting using Salesforce or a comparable CRM. Benefits
