The Client:

One of the most recognisable regional names in the contracting market, operating for over 20 years throughout East Anglia, this modern, forward-thinking main contractor have quickly developed a reputation as one of the leading builders in the area, delivering an exciting range of complex projects across a range of business sectors. Privately owned by industry specialists with a knack for fostering lasting relationships with their clients, they currently turn over north of £20m per annum and employ over 40 direct staff, with steady growth expected throughout 2019 and into 2020.

The Role:

Looking to strengthen their commercial delivery capabilities due to an internal promotion, they seek to add a Quantity Surveyor to their existing team. You'd be responsible for the financial management of a range of general building and refurbishment works across East Anglia, primarily Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and into Cambridgeshire, tackling a varied portfolio of projects across the education, residential, commercial and public sectors, for a collection of key clients including high profile frameworks.

Responsibilities

- Ensure commercial resources are managed across your assigned projects, to maximise planned margin

- Offer detailed expertise on contracts, overseeing valuations, claims and budget monitoring through to final accounts

- Compiling sub-contract orders, and their subsequent issuing to contractors, certifying interim to final payments

- Carry out cost and value reconciliation on all items

- Oversee spend on in-house and sub-contract labour, and material procurement

- Ensure all internal policies are upheld and ensure excellence at all times for clients

Qualifications & Experience

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent Construction-related qualification

- Minimum 4 years previous experience within general commercial main contracting
