We are now recruiting for a Commercial Analyst to work directly alongside the Commercial Manager & Head of Commercial. You will be responsible for supporting the setting of volume, revenue and margin targets for the business. The successful applicant will be an analytical thinker that has the ability to assess data sets with a view to recommending actions, setting success criteria and articulating learnings from execution.

Job Accountabilities

Budgeting and Forecasting

Assisting the commercial manager and head of commercial in scoping and building required models aligned with other areas of the business, understanding the key business / commercial drivers, assumption / decision points and output required

Assist in the management of the budget process collaborating with key stakeholders to set timetables / plans and executing to the agreed time frames.

Assist in the modelling of budget targets ready for distribution to the wider business ensuring alignment of budget to commercial trading targets at destination, channel and product type level.

Strategy

Responsible for helping to shape long term (MTP) commercial strategy model alongside Head of Commercial

Work with defined areas of the business to incorporate strategic goals and key assumptions into modelling impact on volume, revenue and margin

Produce and deliver presentations to communicate strategy to include assumptions, methodology and key driving factors.

Reporting and Trading

Design reports and dashboards to track performance against agreed KPI’s, budgets and other defined targets

Produce analysis that outlines the main drivers of performance versus target and prior year and recommend / execute subsequent actions

Monitor performance versus target at channel and destination level feeding analysis / recommendations into Sales, Marketing, Product, Pricing and Supply (ground and air)

Assist the commercial manager to work with trading areas of the business on business case and scenario modelling in order to set success criteria (targets) for tactical activity then monitor and track performance against these.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Experience:

Previous experience of commercial roles preferably in the travel / hospitality sector

Skills and Knowledge:

Educated to degree standard or equivalent

Background in the travel industry with a good knowledge of commercial drivers within the sector

Experience of budgeting and forecasting processes across business functions

Excellent presentation skills

Experience using Google Analytics beneficial

Experience using TM1 beneficial
