About the role

We are currently looking for a motivated and committed individual with the aptitude ad skills required to be trained as a Meter Technician, working within our busy Meter Field Services team in Hanningfield.

The successful candidate will be required to attend appointments and site meetings with external customers and colleagues as well as completing detailed reports as and when required. The role involves lots of face to face contact with our customers, offering advice and support, so excellent customer service skills are essential.

You’ll be required to locate lost and missing meters as well as exchanging defective meters. You will be the first point of contact for our Meter Readers working within your area.

The role is physically demanding and you will be required to work 37 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, Monday to Saturday between the hours of 07:00 to 20:00. A vehicle will be provided, for business use only, to enable you to carry out your role.

About you

You’ll have proven experience in effectively planning and managing your own workload to meet tight deadlines and you will have a practical hands on aptitude.

Experience of using technology is essential as you will be managing and recording your work via an electronic management system (tough pad).

Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential as you will be liaising with internal and external customers on a daily basis, both face to face and on the phone.

You’ll have a valid driving licence and be willing to undertake a DBS check as an entry to premises card is required for this role.
