About the role

We’re currently looking for a Waterside Parks & Fisheries Ranger to join our team at Hanningfield. Reporting to the Senior Ranger, you will work as part of a team responsible for the day to day provision of leisure services. Hours of work will vary during the week, including covering weekends, and bank holidays. The park is open from 6:00am through to 8:00pm throughout the peak times.

The successful candidate will be part of the commercial fishing business where no two days are the same, day to day you will be involved in minor maintenance jobs across the park, grounds work maintenance tasks, retail shop work, maintaining and cleaning a fleet of fishing boats, policing the fishing business ensuring fishery rules, and standards are managed whilst remaining professional and informative.

You will be involved in ensuring the site services are kept to a high standard, as well as ensuring health and safety of staff, visitors and customers at all times.

Applicants will be expected to take part in a number of training courses including first aid, Rigid inflatable boat (RIB) training, and many more.

This is a very hands on role, with the majority of your working day being outdoors.

About you

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with minimal supervision and on their own initiative as well as work well in a team environment.

Experience of angling techniques, rules and formalities are desirable so that support and advice can be offered as and when required.

A flexible approach to work and excellent organisational skills are essential as well as proven experience of working within a customer service environment as dealing with customer will be an important part of this role.

The successful candidate will require some IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and will hold a full valid driving licence.
