Description:
Are you looking for a job that involves going to the cinema and eating out? Or a part-time practitioner role without the sleep-ins? Could you support someone with learning disabilities in the local community?

You'll join us as a Support Worker at our Supported Living service in Braintree, Essex.

We have part-time positions available, which start at 16 hours per week (2 shifts) but if you were available for more hours, let us know on your application form and we can discuss further at interview. Full-time is 38 hours per week.

About the role

In this MacIntyre service we support 4 people (two gentlemen and two ladies, aged from 50 - 70) in their own bungalows. You will play a key part in assisting the people to live as independently as possible in this lovely supporting environment. You will join in with their favourite pastimes and hobbies, helping them be active members of their local community. Activities might include shopping, going to the cinema, horse racing, bowling, or going out for meals. Or maybe you have an idea for an activity that would be suitable.

They can display mild behaviours of concern and there is minimum personal care involved. We will provide full training with day-to-day help and advice from your Head of Service (Frontline Manager) and Senior Support Workers.

You'll take your turn working shifts on a rota, including days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Shift pattern is: 7:00am - 2:00pm (early shift) and 2:00pm - 10:00pm (late shift).

We provide a full induction and free training program so social care experience is not necessary; People join us from many different backgrounds from experienced Healthcare Assistants and Care Workers to others who are looking for a change in career to something more fulfilling and rewarding. What's important is that you share our values, have a positive approach and are willing to learn.

Pay and Rewards

6.6 weeks (including statutory public holidays) rising with service to a maximum of 7.6 weeks (including statutory public holidays) after 5 years (pro rata for part time staff).
