Position : Consumer Insights Analyst - Research Analyst                             


Our client’s Consumer Insights team, a digitally focused team collaborate with clients to identify current and future market opportunities and develop innovative solutions. The Consumer Insights Analyst will be part of the consumer Insights Team and will get to understand market landscapes, consumers (and businesses) in that market and translate what we learn into specific opportunities.  Our client loves to get immersed in data, work with it, come up with new hypotheses, and keep interrogating what we produce in order to create analysis we are proud of.


For the Consumer Insights Analyst position they are looking for an individual who has a strong interest in technology as the majority of your time will be spent working closely with mobile operators, TV and broadband suppliers, and mobile device manufacturers. This will involve using a combination of survey data, point of sale data, and observed digital behaviour to tell compelling stories about market movements and new opportunities for your clients.


We’re looking for a Consumer Insights Analyst who has the aptitude to work with complex datasets in a commercial role, being able to quickly get to grips with  the numbers and translate this into insight for our clients. Our data is used across the industry for forecasting sales and determining strategy, so numeracy and storytelling skills are a must.


You will both support senior staff and have the opportunity to work independently, managing the day-to-day requests of a portfolio of clients.  Your role will involve direct interaction with clients, utilising your analytical skills and knowledge of technology to deliver actionable insights and solve business needs. 


To join the Consumer Insights team you must be:

knowledgeable about technology so would know the difference between a flagship and a mid-range smartphone; you have an idea about why consumers might be moving to SIM only deals; and you have an opinion on the relative merits of Android vs. iOSYou understand the ‘shape’ of data and are comfortable working in self-service reporting platforms – Survey Reporter, Dapresy or Askia (or any other similar tools – this is about comfort and confidence rather than familiarity with a specific piece of software)You have some experience with quantitative consultancy, and are able to go beyond the research data to provide clients with clear guidance on how they can get the most out of opportunities You are happy to take responsibility for delivering story led reports, ensuring that our clients are happy  

Key tasks & responsibilities:

Support the successful delivery of our Tech360 solution to a number of clients through data analysis, report creation and responding to ad hoc requestsSupport the delivery of the project on time and within budgetSupport on proposal development and pricing of projects for clients Support non-project initiatives for knowledge growth and proposition developmentQuantitative consultancy skills, particularly in the analysis of multi-layered data setsClient management skillsStrong reporting and communication skills. Has a passion to be an engaging ‘Story-Teller’
