FutureLearn is transforming access to education and is one of the world’s largest social learning platforms.

Based in London’s Camden Town, we offer online courses, programs and degrees run by over 100 leading universities from around the world including UCL, University of California Berkeley, University of Edinburgh, University of Melbourne, King’s College London, Purdue University and University of Groningen. We also work offer online courses from specialist education providers including CIPD, UNESCO and the Raspberry PI foundation.

Since our launch in September 2013, we’ve run hundreds of courses that have attracted over 7.5 million learners from all over the world and we've seen over 19 million enrolments on our open online courses and are now working with our partners to pioneer a more modular and accessible approach to studying full degrees.

We are continuing our expansion as we make this journey from offering short online courses, through micro credentials to full online degrees and working with employers and governments to reduce skills gaps. The pace of this change is reflected in extremely rapid growth of our revenues.


We’re expanding our strategy and insights team and are now hiring an experienced generalist Business Analyst with strong commercial acumen to further support FutureLearn to meet our goal to transform access to education worldwide.

In this challenging and rewarding role you will have the opportunity to use your developed analytical and structured thinking skills to inform the strategic direction of our online course portfolio.

You will be able to drive the business forward by evaluating the performance of our course portfolio, from the level of individual courses to the portfolio in aggregate, and using these findings to recommend improvements.

You will learn about how our organisation and business work, and identify the most important questions different teams have by working closely together with them. We will rely on your commercial expertise to advise on the most suitable analytical methods and to formulate well-rounded recommendations that the teams can take forward.


Translating business challenges into analytical questions Data exploration, analysis and interpretation leveraging statistical techniques Visualisation, reporting and presentation of key findings Understanding, interpreting and communicating data-driven insights to the teams Requirements

The ideal candidate has:

Experience with using data analysis to identify patterns and trends and generate insights Commercial awareness, with the ability to understand key performance indicators and to translate findings into commercial recommendations Experience with analytics & statistics, able to choose, explain and apply the right analytical method and has robust understanding of caveats and limitations Attention to detail and a high regard for accuracy Confident communication skills - written, graphical and oral, able to present information in a comprehensive yet easy-to-absorb way Good collaboration skills, with the ability to work together effectively with people of different disciplines and backgrounds in a cross-functional team, along with the ability to build communication networks within an organisation Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage their own projects and allocate time according to business objectives. Other desirable skills:

Working knowledge of SQL, R or Python Capable of extracting and manipulating large data sets stored in relational databases Experience working in the education sector or a passion for transforming access to education and continuous learning is essential Benefits
