As a Stop Smoking Advisor you'll be taking on a truly meaningful role which saves lives by helping smokers quit for good. You will be advising clients in clinics based in GP surgeries and community locations across Surrey. This will include using behaviour change techniques to keep clients motivated and engaged as well as being their main point of reference throughout their journey.

Main Duties

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role. However, so you know what to expect, here are the initial main duties for this role:

Help maintain the ethos and success of Thrive Tribe by managing relationships with your team, stakeholders and clients in line with the organisation’s culture and values. Engage regularly with staff members at clinic locations, local health services, community groups/voluntary organisations and workplaces to ensure high activity levels and good service awareness. Promote face to face clinics including face to face outreach, production/display of advertising materials, texting/calling previous clients or known smokers and other promotional initiatives that attract local smokers. You will need to take initiative and recruit smokers to fill your clinics. To pro-actively seek new locations and establish new clinics as and when required to meet personal and team stop smoking quitter targets. Effectively use our digital systems, including the service database for all client management. You will need to have a sound knowledge of technology to provide external advisors with service database support, training and updates. Work with the wider One You programmes to assist with the delivery of service marketing and communications campaigns. Other tasks, projects or initiatives relevant to the role or the service delegated by the borough coordinators. Contract: Permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £ 20,000 - £22,000 per year.

Place of work: Based in Redhill, Surrey, with regular travel throughout the county of Surrey

Requirements

More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart into their work and communicates superbly with colleagues and stakeholders. You’ll also need to relate strongly to our values, as they run through everything we do, and have an interest in health and wellbeing. Of course, we are also looking for some experience for this role, as follows:

Excellent communication skills – written and verbal. Familiarity and experience with a range of computer software including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. A positive, pro-active approach to work that aligns with the values of Thrive Tribe Experience (or the ability to train to) as a level 2 trained Stop Smoking Advisor and an excellent track record of clinic delivery. Effective time management and good time keeping. Experience of working in a target driven environment, including successful achievement of targets/KPIs. Excellent client relation skills to promote behaviour change. Strong ‘soft sale’ skills are extremely important. Flexible (e.g. when the plan for the day changes last minute) and comfortable in the fast-changing environment. The ability to promote stop smoking clinics and maintain or increase activity levels in order to successfully deliver services. Ability to travel between clinic locations and carry needed equipment e.g. resources, laptop (the trolley will be provided). Energetic and upbeat personality who shares our values and vision. Non-smoker or ex-smoker. Benefits
