You will work closely with the Surrey Stop Smoking Service Team and Thrive Tribe’s centralised team to ensure a systematic approach is taken to generating referrals, developing partnerships and ensuring that external advisors are trained and delivery a top quality smoking service. As the External Stop Smoking Facilitator, you will work closely with pharmacies and GP’s across Surrey. You will receive training to recruit smokers, using a variety of promotional methods to target hard to reach communities. You will also support external advisors within pharmacies to deliver stop smoking clinics. This will involve; regular visits, maintaining good relationships and helping them with data entry.

Main Duties

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role. However, so you know what to expect, here are the initial main duties for this role:

Help maintain the ethos and success of Thrive Tribe by managing relationships with your team, stakeholders and clients in line with the organisation’s culture and values. To pro-actively seek new locations and establish new clinics as and when required in order to meet personal and team stop smoking quitter targets. Promote face to face clinics, groups and drop-ins as well as digital support to ensure adequate client numbers, including face to face outreach, production/display of advertising materials, texting/calling previous clients or known smokers and other promotional initiatives that attract local smokers. You will need to take initiative and recruit smokers to fill clinics run by external providers. Visit locations to build and maintain close relationships with all external advisors. This will involve delivering presentations, and training sessions (about the stop smoking programme) to health professionals and other stakeholders. To support existing and newly trained pharmacy advisors in the everyday provision of the service through regular communication, including face to face visits, telephone contact and email. To ensure all pharmacies have access to up to date and fully functional equipment, resources and materials. · Other tasks, projects or initiatives relevant to the role or the service delegated by the Service Lead in Surrey. Effectively use our digital systems, including the service database for all client management. You will need to have a sound knowledge of technology to provide external advisors with service database support, training and updates. Contract: Permanent, full time 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £23,000 – £ 25,000 per year

Place of work: Based in Redhill, Surrey, with regular travel throughout the county of Surrey

More than anything, we are looking for a team player who puts their heart into their work and communicates superbly with colleagues and stakeholders. Of course, we are also looking for some experience for this role, as follows:

Excellent communication skills – written and verbal. Familiarity and experience with a range of computer software including Microsoft Office Word, Excel and Outlook. A positive, pro-active approach to work that aligns with the values of Thrive Tribe. Experience or keen interest in smoking cessation, behaviour change, health improvement and/or healthcare. Effective time management and good time keeping. Experience of working in a target driven environment, including successful achievement. Excellent client relation skills to promote behaviour change. Strong ‘soft sale’ skills and exceptional communication skills. Flexible (e.g. when the plan for the day changes last minute) and comfortable in the fast changing environment. The ability to promote stop smoking clinics and maintain or increase activity levels in order to successfully deliver services. Ability to travel between pharmacy locations and carry needed equipment e.g. laptop, resources (a trolley will be provided). Knowledge of Surrey it’s urban, rural and resident demographics. Energetic and upbeat personality who shares our values and vision. Non-smoker or ex-smoker. Car owner with full driving licence and happy to use your own car for work purposes (cost of petrol reimbursed for travel within Surrey will be provided) Benefits
